Oryctes rhinoceros trap had been developed in a unique way that it can trap all the beetles arriving from any direction. Each sachet contains 300 mg of pheromone with an active ingredient Ethy-4-Methyloctanate with purity >95 % loaded in soft wax formulation. Oryctes rhinoceros is found in several regions of the world, Adult beetles range from 1.2 to 2.5 inches in length. and are dark brown or black. Both males and females possess a similarly sized horn used for leverage when moving within tightly-packed leaves or within the cavities they create in the crown of palms, the horn length is longer on average for males. Oryctes rhinoceros larvae (grubs) are milky white with red heads. Adult females deposit eggs inside dead palms, decaying plant material, soil with high organic matter content, and, occasionally, wooden structures Adult female lay yellowish-white oval eggs which are about 3 mm in diameter. Eggs are typically laid inside rotting vegetative matter. After one week, they swell and later hatch within 11 to 13 days. Upon emerging, adults fly to a new tree, feed, and mate. Adults spend most of their time feeding on fresh leaves. Adult females live up to nine months, over which period they can lay up to 100 eggs.
